Mr. Mulvaney has a national trial and class action practice, focusing on the defense of complex claims against the insurance and financial services industry. He has served as lead national trial counsel in individual cases and class actions pending in Alabama, Alaska, New York, Connecticut, California, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, West Virginia, New Mexico, North Dakota, Kansas, Delaware, Minnesota, and Louisiana. He has been involved in the litigation of a broad range of cases as well as specializing in several areas, including insurance fraud, bad faith, product liability, and personal injury cases.

Mr. Mulvaney is routineely engaged as lead counsel in the trial of high profile product liability/catastrophic personal injury and commercial litigation cases in dangerous punitive damage verdict venues regionally and nationally.
Mr. Mulvaney serves as the National Trial Counsel for the largest insurance company and financial service company in the United States. Along with his role as national trial counsel, he has served as lead counsel for all AIG/American General domestic life insurance companies, US Life Insurance Company, Old Line Insurance Company, FIC Insurance Group, Investors Life Insurance Company, Standard Life Insurance Company, American United Life Insurance Company, Cherokee National Life Insurance Company, State Life Insurance Company, New York Life Insurance Company, and The Principal Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Mulvaney has served as lead counsel in national class actions pending in Georgia, Mississippi, Minnesota, South Carolina, Kansas, Alabama, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.
Mr. Mulvaney serves as lead counsel regionally and nationally for numerous companies in connection with Stranger Owned Life Insurance Litigation.
Mr. Mulvaney and his firm serve as national trial counsel and national class action counsel for a Fortune 100 Company for all IRS 412 [i] and 419 (A) (F) (6), and VEBA litigation.
He has successfully represented a Fortune 100 Company in the last year in connection with a multi million dollar trademark dispute in New Jersey.
Mr. Mulvaney served as lead trial counsel and obtained a defense verdict in a bad faith/punitive damages case tried in Raleigh County, West Virginia. West Virginia is considered the primary "tort hell" jurisdiction and is one of the most dangerous venues for financial service companies and insurance companies in the United States.
He obtained a defense verdict as lead trial counsel in Walker County, Alabama (one of the most dangerous Alabama venues) for a Fortune 100 company in a case against an insurance company alleging vanishing premium and tax fraud claims.
Mr. Mulvaney successfully represented AIA Insurance Company, the largest insurer in Southeast Asia, in negotiations conducted in Singapore for global alleged market conduct violations before the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
He served as lead counsel in securing the global resolution of over 10,000 class action opt-out claims over a three year period for several different Fortune 100 insurers and financial service companies relating to pending and threatened opt-out litigation in jurisdictions throughout the United States.

Mr. Mulvaney is a frequent lecturer on litigation, trial issues and class actions. He has served as a national lecturer for the Defense Research Institute on litigation topics. Mr. Mulvaney also served as a Faculty Professor in the American Bar Association's nationally recognized Tort Trial and Insurance National Trial Academy.
Outside the Office:
Mr. Mulvaney spends time with his wife Sandy and their three daughters. He coaches soccer and basketball in youth girls sport's leagues. He also trains and competes in triathlons.
