When Lyn St. James completed her first Indy 500 at the age of 45, she was just the second woman in history to race in the event. Some doubted that a woman could keep up with male drivers, and Lyn struggled to get the sponsorship she needed to race. She took eleventh place, and became the first woman to be selected Indy 500 Rookie of the Year.
Fueled by inspiration and limitless motivation, Lyn St. James managed to rise through the ranks and eventually become known as the American Woman Racing Icon of the Century. She is undoubtedly a testament to the power of determination and positive thinking.

Lyn is the least likely person to become a successful race car driver; a shy only child, a certified piano teacher, a secretary, a wife; everything society expected her to do, she did. But there was so much more in her; she searched for it; she found it; and she worked at it until she succeeded. She will challenge you to find your passion, regardless of what limitations may appear real.
People talke about taking a stand, but Lyn's interpretation of that is more about talk than action. When you put your beliefs into ACTION, you make a stand based on your actions and results and they often project a voice that's stronger.
Lyn has had numerous opportunities in her career where the choice was to allow others to define them, or where she stepped up and made her own determination of what meaning they would be in her life. She believes it's important for each person to define who they are, what they're about, and what imprint they wish to leave in society.
Racing is a high performance sport that challenges the technical, human, and competitive environments at the highest levels. Lyn has succeeded in this very male dominated sport and can create analogies for any type of business or organization.
