Biography

Kayla Dornfeld is a third grade teacher, author, keynote speaker, and the CEO of Top Dog Teaching. She is the 2019 North Dakota Teacher of the Year, the 2020 USA Top Educator of the Year, and the 2026 Empowered Woman of the Year. With nearly two decades in education, Kayla is known for helping teachers create joyful, engaging classrooms where both students and educators thrive.

Kayla has presented to thousands of educators around the world through keynotes, conferences, and professional development workshops focused on classroom engagement, relationships, creativity, technology integration, teacher encouragement, and reimagining education. Her TEDx talk, “Reimagining Classrooms,” and her practical, relatable teaching strategies have inspired educators globally. The New York Times once described her as “one of the tech-savviest teachers in the United States.”
