John M. R. Covey is Director of the Home and Family Division at FranklinCovey Company, one of the largest and most respected international leadership development firms. He co-founded the Education Division and has served as Senior Consultant with such clients as Conoco and U.S. Army Corps.
As Director and Co-founder of FranklinCovey's Home and Family Division, John Covey was heavily involved with his brother, Stephen R. Covey, in the research, development, and editing of the New York Times bestselling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families. He is considered a leading authority on the family throughout the world.
John was an elected member of the Utah State Board of Education and was instrumental in the development of a state-wide mission and strategic plan for public education. He is highly committed to releasing the potential of people and organizations, specifically "the family organization."
In the past 35 years, John Covey has spent many years teaching business management, organizational behavior, and marketing at the Marriott School of Management. John is a Harvard MBA and has a Doctorate of Education from BYU. He resides with his wife Jane and their family in the Rocky Mountains of Utah.
