Biography

Dr. Rick Stevenson has filmed and personally conducted over 5600 intimate interviews with kids and teens from across six continents. He knows what goes on in the minds of young people. He pioneered Personal Story Mentoring for kids--a practice dedicated to building Emotional Intelligence, character and resilience in children--helping them discover themselves before they lose themselves in adolescence. Realizing that, as adults, we subconsciously drift into selective amnesia when it comes to childhood, he wrote his discoveries in his new book, 21 Things You Forgot About Being A Kid. Rick is currently bringing his discoveries to educational, health and corporate conferences globally.

Earning his Doctorate in Philosophy at Oxford University, England, Rick is a thought leader, a listener, an innovative storyteller and a filmmaker. He has directed, produced and/or written 12 feature films and nearly 100 hours of television. He has worked with Robert Redford, Hugh Grant, Christopher Plummer, Keifer Sutherland, Meg Ryan, Patrick Dempsey, Jennifer Connelly, Mark Harmon and many others winning over 40 awards. He founded the Prodigy Camp for the world's most talented teen storytellers and is in his 20th year of filming the 5000 Days Project involving kids from around the world. He is a husband, a father of four and a facilitator of personal truth. He firmly believes that each of us are inexplicably born with a deep well of wisdom which, when accessed with the right tools, can help us reach new heights, heal and discover our purpose.
