Colonel DeDe Halfhill, USAF (Ret.) commanded teams in Iraq and advised America's top military leaders. In both roles, she learned that leaders who win are the ones who can see what others miss.

During 25 years of military service, including combat command in Iraq, DeDe discovered that mission failure rarely came from bad strategy. It came from what leaders missed: the team member who seemed fine but was struggling, the plan everyone agreed to but no one believed in, the resistance that built quietly while leaders focused elsewhere.

As principal advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Defense, and the Commanding General of Multinational Forces in Iraq, she helped leaders responsible for millions of lives recognize these patterns before they became catastrophes.
