Is innovation is the new holy grail? It is difficult to find a technology or business publication without at least one article on innovation. Is this because there hasn’t been a big new technology hit in the last few years or is it people looking for the silver bullet that will solve all of their problems overnight? It may be all of the above, but is it that easy?
This session will examine the conditions necessary in organizations to allow for creativity and innovation. We will discuss where to look for innovation and creativity and once it is found how to implement it successfully. Any change brought about by a new innovation will meet the cultural antibodies that will try to reject the change. We will examine the cultural components of innovation and the leadership activities necessary to support innovation and overcome resistance. Using the Culture Instrument Panel © it will be possible to identify actions and policies crucial to achieving the desired innovative culture.
