John Amanchukwu

John K. Amanchukwu, Sr. is an influential activist, author, and speaker who passionately advocates for America’s children, born and preborn. Known as the “book banning pastor,” John gained national attention by challenging school boards to remove inappropriate content from school libraries. He frequently addresses political and pro-life organizations, encouraging them to take strong stances on issues shaping America’s future.

John graduated from North Carolina State University, where he played football under Coach Chuck Amato. From his days on the football field to his current involvement in cultural debates, John has been a determined advocate for the principles he believes make America great. He holds a master’s degree in Christian Ministry from Liberty University and has years of experience as a leader in youth and young adult mentorship. His work reflects a strong focus on engaging the next generation in meaningful conversations about personal responsibility and societal challenges.

A vocal proponent of pro-life initiatives, John has led a 40-week prayer walk for 12 years at one of the busiest abortion clinics in the Southeast, raising awareness of the impact of abortion, particularly in the Black community.

He is the best-selling author of Eraced: Uncovering the Lies of Critical Race Theory and Abortion and Hoodwinked: 10 Lies Americans Believe and the Truth That Will Set Them Free. A staunch advocate for school choice, John speaks at school board meetings nationwide, urging institutions to prioritize education over ideological indoctrination. His viral speech to the Wake County School Board has been viewed over five million times, cementing his place as a prominent voice in contemporary educational debates.

John is the First Assistant and Youth & Young Adult Pastor at the Upper Room Church of God in Christ. He is a family man. He and his wife Crystal have been married for 15 years. They and their three beautiful children live in Wake Forest, NC.
