Biography

Daniel Thompson is a master educator and trainer at the nationally acclaimed Ron Clark Academy, a nonprofit middle school in Atlanta, Georgia, where he serves as the Science Department Head, Accreditation Chair, and Scheduling Coordinator. Passionate about engaging students through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, Daniel has led professional development for educators around the world, equipping teachers with innovative instructional strategies that transform classrooms.

An award-winning science educator, Daniel was named a finalist for both the prestigious Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) and the eSchool News Hero Educator Awards in recognition of his innovative STEM instruction. Known affectionately as RCA's "Mad Scientist," he creates high-energy learning experiences that empower students to think, investigate, and problem-solve like real scientists through hands-on experimentation, emerging technologies, and collaborative learning.

Daniel earned his bachelor's degree in Science Education from Auburn University, where he also served as a football analyst for Auburn's 2010 BCS National Championship team. With more than 11 years of experience in education, he has taught students across grades 5–12 and remains committed to inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of science in both students and educators.
