Hey, Dan here. Before we get to this week’s coaching video, I wanted to give you advanced notice of exciting news. On November 2nd, at 2 p.m. Eastern, I’m hosting a live digital event, that features exciting, powerful, learning and announces a big new project we’ve been working on for quite some time. You’ll learn more about it next week, but for now, mark your calendars November 2nd, at 2pm. Or even better, go to this website to register, as it’s limited to the first 500 people who sign up. That’s why I wanted you to know. And now you do. So, on to this week’s coaching video. Enjoy.
Where do you go when you're in need of a breakthrough? This week let's discover your path of inspiration.
You know the feeling. Something's weighing on you, as you need to find an answer, or come up with a creative idea or solution. Time is ticking. Others are expecting your input, so creativity needs to strike quickly. Where do you go and what do you do?
My answer is different than yours. I operate best while in motion. I know this about myself. Activity simultaneously relaxes me and focuses my mind. The more interesting and difficult, the better. And when riding a unicycle through the woods, you get plenty of both, interesting and difficult.
On one level, technical challenge, constant change, and physical exertion require all of my attention, so I can't think of anything but this. Yet on another level, this takes me to a mental state where creative ideas come freely, often with vivid clarity. Whether I'm looking for a workout, a fun time, or the next creative idea, I generally find all three when I'm on the path.
Like I said, my path is different than your path. And if not, let's hang out! The real question is, "What is your path to inspiration? Do you know that answer? If so, go there regularly with both intention and openness.
Intention – I'm going here to be fully present to what I experience, think, and realize.
And openness – I am open to having a meaningful experience and valuable realization.
Own your path of inspiration. Rather than racking your brain for the next big idea, put yourself where ideas most easily find you. Go there with the intention to be fully present and open to receiving unexpected gifts. Until next week, stay Off Balance On Purpose.
