Mattie Jackson Selecman Bio

Mattie Jackson Selecman is an author, podcaster, speaker, and co-founder of NaSHEville, a women's philanthropic apparel brand serving orphans, widows, and victims of human trafficking. Even when she founded NaSHEville and launched the organization's faith based podcast, She's in the City, in 2018, she had no idea what a profound impact her words would have on the world.

Just three weeks shy of their first wedding anniversary, Mattie lost her 28-year old husband very suddenly to a traumatic brain injury. Since then she has used her work and her platform to share her grief, her healing, and her unshakeable faith with women and men across the country. Her first book, Lemons on Friday: Trusting God Through My Greatest Heartbreak, released November of 2021 and chronicles the first three years of grieving her husband and her marriage. As she shares the depths of her sorrow and her story with the world, her single greatest desire is to lead people to hope. "If someone suffering any sort of loss can hear what I've walked through and see hope in my story, then maybe they can walk away seeing a little more hope in their own."
