Rob and Michelle McCoy have been married 34 years. They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
Rob has been an ordained minister for more than 30 years and has been the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Godspeak in Thousand Oaks, Ca. for a little over 24 years.
Rob was a two term Councilman and the former Mayor of the City of Thousand Oaks, Ca. He is currently the co-chair of TPUSA Faith which he and Charlie Kirk developed for the purpose equipping churches to be the Beacons of Liberty. As Rob always says in accordance with and inspired by 2 Corinthians 3:17: “Liberty is not man’s idea, it’s God’s idea.”
Rob took on Governor Newsom and the County of Ventura during the lockdowns when the Governor declared the church to be nonessential. He disobeyed the unconstitutional order of the Governor and kept their church open. He was threatened with arrest and fined $3000 every time the doors of the church were opened to the public and as a result was found guilty of contempt twice and amassed total fines of over $300,000. He refused to close and ultimately the county and the state lifted the fines and ceased their unconstitutional crusade. He declared then and still does today that the church is essential and that God is greater than government.
