L.Y. "After growing up in one of the most drug and crime infested projects in Philadelphia, a product of teen pregnancy, and escaping an unspeakable abusive relationship, I put myself through 14 years of night school (sometimes with baby in tow) to earn multiple degrees including an MBA which landed me leadership positions with major corporations, to later writing my first book that transformed into my life's purpose," says L.Y.

Saving Promise --a movement born from one woman's hope to stop the cycle of violence in her own family--is inspired by L.Y.'s story of four generations of mothers and daughters in her family who survived more than sixty years of domestic violence. When L.Y. discovered that her twenty-two-year-old daughter was trapped in an abusive relationship that also threatened her granddaughter, a little girl named Promise, now the fifth generation, she founded Saving Promise with the intention of saving Promise, which has blossomed into a vision for the nation.
