Although I'm not a 'motivational' speaker, but a futurist, a good part of my job on stage is to motivate people! Not in some sort of abstract way, but with real information on the trends that will impact them, and the innovation strategies they need to pursue to align themselves to those trends.
In that way, I motivate my audiences to success by aligning to obvious future trends. One of my favourite phrases on stage? “Change your future before the future changes you!”
One of the key issues I will talk about is the need to take risk, try new things, develop experience .because that is one of the best ways to understand a particular trend and turn it into advantage. It is inevitable that things will go wrong ..
So you'll have to be of a mindset that you'll need a good ability to recover from those mistakes. Do a redo. Turn things around.
When you are innovating at the leading edge, you might have need to do this on a regular ongoing basis.
And if you accept that recovering from your mistakes is a key part of your progress, you are a good part of the way there!
