3 Quick Health Tips For On-The-Go Event Planners

Mindful Meetings Part 1

3 Healthy Habits to create Mindful Event Planners

Today as event planners you have more responsibilities than ever, having to do more with less with tighter budgets and higher demands. This requires more mindfulness in the planning and execution of your meetings, and starts with being more mindful in your own healthy self care.   Here are 3 healthy habits to help:

Practice intention.  Rather than jump out of bed with your hair on fire while you are onsite every day, begin your day with intention.  Do a simple practice of deep breathing, visualizing your day, journaling or praying.   Even 5 minutes of intentional quiet time will get you more centered and grounded for your busy day.

Eat, drink and be healthy.  You already know keeping your body hydrated and fueled during your long days is critical, but healthy choices are not usually available unless you plan well.  Have lots of healthy snacks with you like fresh fruit, raw vegetables, raisins, nuts, protein bars and string cheese to prepare you for the meals you may miss.   Eat something every 2-3 hours and have a bottle of water with you at all times to get in 64 oz and you will find you have more energy and focus to meet the demands of the day.

Get Your Beauty Sleep.   Long days of being engaged and energetic require good sleep but it can be challenging to wind down after a stimulating day, especially in unfamiliar surroundings.  Develop a sleeping ritual like wearing a special nightshirt, taking a hot bath, drinking herbal tea, or reading something inspirational to prepare your body and brain for sleep.  Avoid more stimulating activities such as talking on the phone or watching television right before bed.

Try these 3 simple healthy habits to create a more mindful meeting experience for yourself and your attendees.
