On the season premiere of ABC's Secret Millionaire "Anne Beiler: Baltimore, MD" - Auntie Anne's Pretzels founder, Anne Beiler, travels to Baltimore, Maryland and visits some of the poorest sections of the city to find people and organizations in need of her help.
On her journey, a number of grass-roots organizations touch and move her in amazing ways, including Casey Cares Foundation, a group that helps sick children and their families cope with illness, The Rose Street Community Center, which provides community and social services to combat violence and homelessness in the East Baltimore area, as well as Movable Feast, a non-profit organization that provides meals and food to people who cannot provide for themselves.
After spending a week in Baltimore, Beiler shares the surprise of a lifetime with these philanthropic organizations, on the Season Premiere of "Secret Millionaire," SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Anne Beiler began twisting pretzels in 1987 to support her husband's vision to offer free counseling services in the Amish community where she grew up in rural Pennsylvania.
What began as a single farmer's market stand grew into Auntie Anne's Inc., the world's largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise with more than 1,200 locations worldwide. In 2005 Anne sold Auntie Anne's and authored Twist of Faith, a revealing look at her life as a wife, mother and entrepreneur.
Today she is a highly sought after public speaker, inspiring audiences around the world. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, Jonas, and is the mother of two daughters and proud grandmother of four grandchildren.
Based on the hit UK series of the same name, each episode of "Secret Millionaire" follows one of America's most successful business people for one week as they leave behind their lavish lifestyles, sprawling mansions and luxury jets, conceal their true identities, and go to live and volunteer in some of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in the country.
Their mission is to discover deserving individuals who continually sacrifice everything to help those in need, and ultimately encourage others to do the same. Throughout this incredible, life-changing experience, the Secret Millionaires attempt to remain undiscovered, coming face to face with extraordinary people battling the odds every day of their lives.
On the final day, in an emotional and dramatic climax, they reveal their true identities. Ultimately, the millionaires each give away a great deal of their own money, changing lives forever and encouraging others to keep giving back.
