Judge Pirro has been a leader in the fight against domestic violence and child abuse as well as advocate for victim’s rights since she began her career. As a prosecutor, Judge Pirro spearheaded one of the first domestic violence units in the nation, changing the national dialogue and leading the national charge to stop violence in the home. Her bureau served as a model for prosecutor offices across the country.

Her Internet sting operation netted a 100% conviction rate and served as a model for other local, state, and federal initiatives. Judge Jeanine Pirro’s life has been a series of firsts. As an Assistant District Attorney, she was the first woman to prosecute a murder case in Westchester County, New York. Pirro was the first woman elected to the Westchester County Court bench as well as the first woman elected to the position of Westchester County District Attorney and President of New York State District Attorneys Association. Serving in this capacity, Pirro displayed determination and leadership as she lobbied for New York to enact legislation regarding hate crimes.
