Christopher M. Anderson Bio

Christopher M. Anderson is one of the world's leading experts on the male experience of trauma. He survived multiple forms of trauma including child sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence, stalking, and bullying to emerge as a global advocate and authority on the trauma and abuse boys and men endure. Using the power of his personal story, Chris helps open pathways to hope for other survivors and understanding for the professionals and loved ones who support them. He is a passionate advocate for the inclusion of survivors' voices and perspectives into public policy discussions, research, and the development of holistic, trauma-informed practices throughout all parts of our culture.

A dynamic and empowering speaker, Chris has provided trainings and informational presentations on the male experience of trauma and abuse for thousands of students and professionals across a wide rage of disciplines. His synergy with the audience and positive attitude is inspiring and motivating as he offers practical, evidence based suggestions for providing individuals, families, businesses, and communities impacted by oftentimes hidden costs of trauma.

Chris is a member of numerous advisory boards and advocacy groups including the National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence and serves as a Victim Impact Consultant for the Office of Victims of Crime. A member of Local One, IATSE, Chris worked as a stagehand on and off Broadway until 2011. He currently lives in New York City with his wife, Jane. He graduated in 1996 from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD with a BA in Liberal Arts.
