Jackie Joyner-Kersee

Very few athletes have the opportunity to reinvent their sport. Jackie Joyner-Kersee is one such athlete. She has distinguished herself in her sport as the World's Greatest Female Athlete. Jackie is first woman to win back-to-back gold medals in the heptathlon. She currently holds the world record in the heptathlon and the Olympic and National record in the long jump. Jackie has six Olympic medals to her credit including three gold medals.

Jackie's versatility is not only limited to the sports arena. She is a business executive with her own sports marketing firm and co-owner of a NASCAR racing team, JKR Motorsports LLC. Her philanthropic efforts have allowed her to raise over 12 million dollars to build a community center in her hometown of East St. Louis, Illinois.

After graduating from the University of California Los Angeles in 1985 with a B.A. in history, Kersee went on to shatter records and establish herself as one of the greatest athletes of the 20th Century.

Kersee has received a multitude of awards and honors including the Sullivan Award, the Jesse Owens Award, the Fair Play Award and many others. Additionally to her credit are 8 honorary doctorates from Universities all over the country.
