DIAGNOSTIC CONSULTING AND EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT
Dr. Kinicki is a principal at Kinicki and Associates, Inc., a management consulting firm that works with top management teams to create organizational change aimed at increasing organizational effectiveness and profitability. This expertise includes facilitating strategic/operational planning sessions, diagnosing organizational problems, implementing performance management systems, designing and implementing performance appraisal systems, and developing and administering surveys to assess employee attitudes and customer satisfaction, and leading management development/training programs. He conducts management development seminars on performance management, giving effective feedback, employee motivation, goal setting, leadership, and interpersonal influence. He developed a 360o feedback instrument called the Performance Management Leadership Survey (PMLS) that is used by companies throughout the United States and Europe.
APPLIED RESEARCH
He has conducted applied research on topics including organizational change, organizational culture, performance appraisal, providing performance feedback, employee turnover, employee selection, coping with job stress, leadership, motivation, and evaluating organizational change.
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Professor of Management in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University since 1982. He received the Weatherup/Overby Chair in Leadership in 2005. Twenty four years of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in general management, organizational behavior, human resource management, research methodology, and statistics.
