School Culture not School Vulture
We’ve all known that “School Vulture”… the one that just sits around, arms folded, waiting for something to fail and then pounces on it… But, Mr. D will prove that certain strategies and the power of fun, laughter, and engagement can influence and transform the climate of any building. In this keynote, Mr. D encourages you to create a fearless learning environment where teachers, staff, and administrators realize that without risk there is no reward. We must stop asking "what will go wrong" and start asking "what will go right!"
Keep it REAL. Keep it FUN. Keep it UP!
Mr. D has studied the art of improv comedy for years. With that said, it's no surprise that his classroom experiences can be quite comical. His goal for education is for students to WANT to be in school rather than HAVE to be in school. In this keynote, Mr. D shares stories, strategies, and practices of how he maintains a high level of engagement, fun, laughter, and rigor in the classroom. If, even by just a small amount, we can increase student laughter while they are learning, we will start to see a deeper engagement and understanding of our instruction! If there is anyone that can be a model for fun in the classroom, it is Mr. D!
If I'd only known!
It is no secret the World of Education has a retention problem with Educators. Much like our students, if WE are not engaged in the school, lifting other teachers up, and receiving support from our mentors our likelihood of "Dropping Out" increases significantly. This session will go through strengths and struggles that Mr. D has endured to become the passionate educator he is today. Join him as he highlights the essential skills it takes for a new teacher to be successful and make a positive name for themselves in this rewarding career we call "teaching."
Technology in the Classroom
Technology in the classroom can be an extremely daunting implementation for many teachers, especially those who have earned their seniority. Joe's message encourages the audience to start small and use what you already know to enhance your technological abilities. He always dissects the in's and out's of social media and how it can be used in education to help teachers build unbelievable classroom experiences while at the same time keeping money in their own pockets!
Joe "Mr. D" Dombrowski
Joe, I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being YOU! So many times we see educators not truly be themselves or make their original mark. It's so outstanding to see an educator that is true to themselves. So thank you for not being afraid to show the world who you are as a person and teacher. Secondly, thank you for telling our students the truth. Students need to know exactly what its like to be a teacher. I love that you are honest and share real life events with them
Mr. Joe Dombrowski presented at our Teacher to Teacher Tech Rally. We would welcome him again any time!!! This was an event for teachers to help them understand and become excited about integrating technology into their classrooms. Mr. Dombrowski was engaging and fun in his sessions. He circulated throughout the room and helped engage all the teachers, some of whom were nervous about the topic. He is able to speak to a wide range of participants.
The world needs more teachers like you, and you are a true example of why teachers deserve much more than they are given. You will be the teacher that your students will remember for the rest of their lives. Bravo
My favorite part about you is the amazing inspiration you must be to your co workers! So many of our teachers are losing faith and the will to teach such unruly youth. I bet you're like an amazing cup of coffee/hot chocolate to some! What a stand up good guy you are. Don't ever change Mr D. Well done sir, well done.
"Over the years I've introduced you to a number of incredible teachers, and this one [Dombrowski] is one of my favorites."
In 20 years of working with improvisers, I've never known anyone quite like Joe Dombrowski. His ability to connect with the crowd and perform at such a high intensity level is unrivaled. From the second his foot hits the stage he owns the room and I've never seen him fail to win over a crowd. His beaming personality is electric and his energy could fill the Coliseum. Joe cannot be ignored - such an incredible talent.
