IMPOLITE DEBATES with Ann Coulter and Mickey Kaus
Biography

In the tradition of Buckley vs. Vidal, writers Ann Coulter and Mickey Kaus bring fire, fury and fun to the most profound debates of the Trump era. Coulter and Kaus have been deeply involved in politics for decades, mostly on opposite sides--and they pull no punches on issues where they disagree. But they share an undying commitment to the country, their fellow citizens and to honest debate. Passionate arguments, not provocation for its own sake. Unless they can get in a really good shot. They're not cardboard partisans who'd be cast in a stale confrontation on CNN. In fact, both abandoned their official parties in 2016 to support Donald Trump (drawn by Trump's stand on the one issue that brings them--mostly--together: immigration). Coulter was one of Trump's earliest, and most prescient, supporters, predicting in mid-June, 2015, to a disbelieving audience, that Trump would win. Since his election she's been equally willing to call him out and keep him true to his campaign promises. Sometimes calls her back. Kaus is one of the few voices in the nation who can explain Trump from a Democratic perspective -- in a way that makes even die-hard Trump Resisters at least stop and think. He thinks the President has the potential for making both parties obsolete. The two still have a lot to disagree about, even when it comes to Trump -- though unlike many pundits, their debate is informed by inside information about the current White House. Kaus has been a defender of Obamacare, even against Trump's "repeal" efforts. And he kind of likes the Bernie Sanders idea of "Medicare for All." Coulter hates him for that -- she's been a vigorous critic of both these plans. She favors less regulation in virtually every area of life, health care included. Kaus thinks regulations often make our lives better, when the corrupt system in Washington lets that happen. Coulter's against abortion and same-sex marriage. Kaus thinks both should be legal. They fight about everything except the goals: Making life in America fairer, freer and better through politics. Both believe unrestrained, even impolite, debate get us closer to those goals -- as opposed to the stifling rules of conventional politics (political correctness) that mainly prevent people saying what they think. Better to have it out! It's also more entertaining that way. Coulter and Kaus have received rave reviews for their debates, some of which can be seen online.
