Relevant and Leading Voice on Social Issues Impacting Millenials

Nick is an expert on the millennial generation and the issues they face; cutting, suicide, depression and bullying. Through PULSE, Nick shares the hope of the Gospel with 800,000 young people each year. Nick’s success in reaching millennials is found in the fact that he speaks the language of this generation. For example, Nick uses technology to get their attention by asking people to text him if they want to learn more about Jesus. Once someone sends Nick a text, the PULSE ministry will begin working to connect the texter with someone locally who is committed to starting a Bible study with that person. Nick is calling the Christian community to get involved in the lives of high school and college students who are the least churched and more Biblically illiterate generation alive.

Eliminating the Trash in One’s Life

Nick Hall often serves as the keynote speaker at different events and has the opportunity to talk to millennials about life, hardships and hope. He encourages them to “Reset” and let go of the “trash” in their lives. The PULSE team physically sets out trashcans at the end of my message, and Nick invites young people to throw away the things in their life that are holding them back from meaningful relationships or causing them regret. You would not believe some of the things Nick has seen thrown into those trash bins: bullets representing gang membership and violence, an appointment card for Planned Parenthood and dozens of razors and other sharp objects used for cutting, are among the many heartbreaking items.

Social Media

Social media is a widely use medium for today’s’ young people; to them social media is a social experience. PULSE uses social media to reach out to this generation because it is how they communicate. Through social media we are able to share the Gospel message with a generation bombarded with message. We use social media for its positive impact, but the tool also has a very dark side. Trends like sexting and viral bullying harm our youth. Everything in life can be used for good, even if its only purpose is to serve as an example of what not to do. Flipping negative to positive is possible, even in the case of negative social media trends. We need to empower our teens with knowledge and confidence to not follow what’s hot or momentarily tending and momentarily satisfying.
