April has demonstrated her versatility as an actress. However, her latest role is not in front of the camera but as a motivational and inspirational speaker. While promoting the film Freedom Writers, she discovered she possessed the gift of connecting with audiences and now uses her voice and privilege of celebrity speaking and promoting positive change. Her genuine commitment is to speak truthfully about her personal struggles, survival, determination and faith resonates with audiences from all ages and ethnic groups.

Tirelessly dedicated to planting seeds and encouraging the youth of this world, April recently was certified by the state of New York as a Chaplain with the National Association of Youth Chaplains, a program designed to train clinical chaplains to work with today's youth, who are un-churched or incarcerated. Her ability to connect to young audiences while providing them with an inspirational message put her in front of a podium at the prestigious Harvard University's Latino Conference and over 16,000 youth at Teen Mania's Battle Cry at the IZOD Center in New York City. April works hard to promote a better life and a positive change and speaks freely about the role her faith plays in her life. Audiences enjoy her refreshing honesty and willingness to tackle through topics facing our youth today.

April lives in New York and shares her life with filmmaker husband Jose Castillo (LionChaser Films). Both are active in mentoring and encouraging audiences through film and stage. Seriously committed to broadening the message of hope, leading with vision and positively impacting others motivated them to launch Bold Faith Ministries in 2010. Whether it be as an actor, speaker or advocate for victims of domestic violence, April Lee Hernandez-Castillo is known for breaking boundaries.
