This exemplary institution has inspired educators all over the world to think outside of the box and see teaching in a refreshing, new and creative light. Ron Clark and Kim Bearden stress every student’s potential and the responsibility of educators and parents to do whatever they can to nurture it.
The Ron Clark Academy and Staples recently collaborated on the first Designed by Students Initiative which helps students learn to collaborate with peers, solve problems hands-on and develop entrepreneurial thinking. Students identified problems with existing school supplies, drafted original re-designs, and pitched their prototypes. The most exciting part of it all is that Staples will carry the students’ designs in stores nationwide starting on June 28th!
The Designed by Students Initiative is a striking example of the power of collaboration in all forms: student to student and brand to brand. By partnering together, The Ron Clark Academy and Staples have taken a step beyond the concept of a donation. They’ve invested in empowering students by helping them cultivate critical life skills in a “real world” context. It's experiences like this that enable Ron and Kim to enrich the lives of other educators and the audiences that they reach through speaking engagements, workshops and more.
