Peggy Wehmeyer
Biography

Peggy Wehmeyer is host and managing editor of The World Vision Report, an award-winning radio newsmagazine that takes an in-depth and personal look at global poverty and justice.

Stories from The World Vision Report air on more than 1,200 radio stations nationwide.

Before hosting The World Vision Report, Peggy was the religion correspondent for ABC News. For seven years she covered religion for World News Tonight, 20/20, Good Morning America, and primetime specials. Peggy interviewed Presidents Bush and Clinton and covered a broad spectrum of religion stories, from the growth of Islam in America, to prayer in school, to controversies surrounding gay marriage. Peggy Wehmeyer originally came to ABC News from the network's Dallas affiliate, WFAA-TV, where she pioneered the nation's first religion beat for a local television station.

Peggy Wehmeyer's reporting has won the respect of American religious leaders and fellow journalists. The former Peter Jennings of ABC World News Tonight told audiences that her work "elicits a greater response from both audience and colleagues than anything else we've done in recent years." Her many awards in broadcast journalism include the Columbus International Film and Video Festival Award, the Cine Golden Eagle Award, and the New York Festival Award.

Peggy Wehmeyer recently lost her husband of 25 years, Mark Woods. She is the mother of two adult daughters.
