“Applying ISTE’s Nine Themes of Digital Citizenship in the K-6 Classroom”

This train-the-trainer workshop is meant for K-6 teachers as well as teachers in tech advocate positions. Total instructional time = 8 hours (two x 4 hour sessions)

At the conclusion of each of the 9 standards, specific implementation discussions will occur to help create a complete grade level/school level plan.

Focuses on activities for understanding: what the Internet is (and isn’t),the fact that all online contacts are with strangers, role playing online vs IRL situations, and more.

· Who are you talking to? - Understanding that you don’t ever really know who you are talking to. Activity: Identifying risks related to posting and sharing content
