In July of 1989, Jerry Schemmel survived one of the worst airline disasters in American aviation history. United Airlines Flight 232, after an in-flight engine explosion, crash landed in Sioux City, IA. 112 of the 296 aboard perished in the accident.
Schemmel’s presentation will include the story of this tragic crash, what happened and why. But more importantly, it will deal with what has happened since the crash. Schemmel will talk about moving through and past post-trauma stress, with a refusal to let the crash stop of him from achieving goals and realizing dreams. He will talk about moving from tragedy to triumph.
