Biography
Banding People Together provides organizations with the strategy, approach and tactics to get the most out of their talent every single day. We leverage our expertise in collaboration to help individuals, teams and organizations understand the impact that collaboration has on the following areas of an enterprise:
Employee Engagement and Retention
Leadership Development
Team Performance
Diversity and Inclusion
Change Management
Banding People Together's expertise lies in helping individuals and organizations establish and maintain a healthy collaborative work environment. We believe that a truly collaborative environment is the key to building culture, engaging employees and achieving innovation. Very simply, we help organizations create an environment that people WANT to be in.
Using music and songwriting as the vehicle for our message provides us with a unique opportunity to connect with people across ethnic, cultural, generational, socio economic and organizational divides. Our methodology is based in sound instructional design and validated scientific research and is purposely delivered with a musical theme for optimal participant engagement and learning retention.
Oftentimes collaborative training is confused with teambuilding. We believe that teambuilding is but a subset of true collaboration. Our mission is to help organizations create a corporate culture where collaboration drives true business value, is valued as a primary cultural attribute and is rewarded throughout the enterprise.

Does Your Band Believe?
Founder/CEO Alan Schaefer will bring his unique perspective from the world of rock & roll to discuss how to effectively engage your most valuable and yet most underutilized asset, your people. Alan shares his experience in the music industry as a model to explore what it means to engage your people, your peers and your leadership; what value is produced by driving that engagement and finally what’s required to make it real and sustainable. As a result of this session participants will be able to:
Establish, create and maintain an engaging work environment
Understand their role as a leader and/or individual contributor in the engagement process
Will be able to develop a strategy for engaging a multi-generational workforce
Keynote
Three Chords Of Collaboration
This highly engaging keynote with musical interludes will get your Rock Stars thinking about collaboration in a very different way. Throughout this highly engaging and entertaining interactive keynote, Alan informs and entertains by sharing unique experiences such as entertaining US troops in the theater of war and building and selling a multi-million dollar media company. We will explore the collaborative process through what we call...
3 Chords Of Collaboration
C - Collaborative Starts With You
D - Differences Create The Sound
G - Getting Everyone Playing From The Same Sheet of Music.
Great for groups of any size and can range from 45 to 90 minutes.
Team Harmony Through Songwriting
This program is more training intensive as it provides your rock stars with an all access pass to the world of band dynamics as together we explore behavioral styles based on famous recording artists as well as Five Part Harmony, those elements necessary for a band (or any team) to function at their highest collective potential. Great for in tact teams. We recommend a half or full day for this program and also recommend smaller breakout group sizes.
Change Management Through Songwriting
Through our own proprietary songwriting process, we create an environment where our bandleaders lead your team through a session in which we capture amazing insights around the significant changes within your organization. Post session we provide valuable data you can use to support your larger change management strategy. We recommend 2.5 to 3 hours for this program and can accommodate larger breakout groups.
