Scott Burton

Scott is able to get across the human side of the cancer experience like you've never seen before!

Recognizing cancer as two diseases, a medical one and an emotional one, Scott fights the battle on both fronts. An award-winning comic and world champion juggler who has worked with Jay Leno and Louie Anderson, Scott shows the need for humor, passion and expressing humanity to strengthen our spirits, which in turn give us the will and attitude to fight our medical battles.

This is not just a show about cancer. It is not just about humor. It is about opportunity -- about the tools available to us all that empower both survivors (and medical professionals). These tools open the door to not only healing, but loving life. Diagnosed with a high-grade osteo sarcoma in 1992, Scott has blended his worlds of comedy, juggling and an uplifting cancer story to provide a potent, needful message combined with nationally recognized entertainment.

He has brought his talk to medical symposiums, fundraisers and survivor programs throughout the country. Some events include the Oncology Nursing Society's National Congress (twice), MD Anderson's Patient Conference, Virtua Health Foundation's 10th Anniversary Howard S. Fiala Lecture Series and The Network for Oncology Research and Communication, as well as multiple American Cancer Society functions and Survivor Day events

For nurses and medical conferences, Scott's show is available for CEUs and is a powerful statement on the perspective of the patient, plus a call for passion on the job. It offers first rate entertainment in a credited educational program!

Scott is also the author of A Life in the Balance -- a refreshingly honest, funny and inspirational book on surviving cancer. He has written several articles published by Coping magazine, MGI Pharma's Comfort Zone and the pages of the Minneapolis StarTribune. He was also selected as a contributor to the next printing of Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul.

His unique fusion of stand-up comedy, world-class juggling and profound cancer stories makes for one of the most unusual, energetic and inspiring talks available to health care professionals and survivors alike.
