Biography

Maureen Healy is the founder of Growing Happy Kids, and author of "Growing Happy Kids: How to Foster Inner Confidence, Success and Happiness" (HCI, 2012). With 20 years of experience Maureen has literally traveled the globe fostering the positive emotional health of children. She has even lived at the Base of the Himalayas to work with refugee children. Drawing upon her in-depth background in Child Psychology and Spiritual Wisdom, Maureen integrates the best of eastern and western thinking to guide adults on how to nurture a child's emotional and social health.

Maureen is also an active contributor to the field with a popular blog on Psychology Today's website, and as a frequent guest speaker internationally. Her work has also been featured in Spirituality & Health, Pure Inspiration, Tathaastu, Parenting and Parents magazine as well as all major media outlets.

Healy herself has pioneered the creation of emotional health curriculums for elementary aged children. She has worked with private, public and charter school systems. Her own background includes teaching as well as being a child therapist in New York, California, Connecticut and North Carolina.

Her formal academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Business Administration from Clark University as well as a Master of Arts program in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Coupled with in-depth studies in Tibetan Buddhism in Asia and the United States.
