
Biography
Mark Moseley has enjoyed a brilliant football career. In 1982, he was voted the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player – the first time in the NFL’s 75-year history that a kicker has ever been nominated or elected to such a prestigious position. The holder of numerous NFL kicking records, he has recently become eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame.
Mark began his football career in 1970, when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Eagles for one year before returning to his home state of Texas, where he played for the Houston Oilers for nearly two years.
Mark Moseley came to the Washington Redskins in 1974, where he became an All-Pro and was so honored four times. In 1983, he set a single season scoring record of 161 points. He led the NFL in scoring four separate seasons, which placed him sixth on the all-time scoring list at that time. Mark also kicked 300 field goals in his career, placing him fifth on the NFL’s ALL-TIME scoring list.
