Most people know Kim Alexis for her physical beauty. But there's more to her story than meets the eye. Her lifelong commitment to athletics, her stature as one of the world's first supermodels, her extensive experience in front of the camera, and her own encounters with physical trials including battling thyroid problems, raising 5 kids (3 sons and 2 step kids) and going through divorce have molded her into a woman uniquely equipped to speak fitness and women's issues with real solutions.
Kim Alexis was born and reared near Buffalo, NY. Always competitive, Kim was deeply involved in athletics; swimming 5 ½ hours a day, marching and concert band, honor society, youth group at her church and worked in a pharmacy for $1.98/hr.
At the age of 18, she was "discovered" by the Elite Talent Agency. She soon moved to New York City and thus began an unbelievable career in the modeling industry. She had her first cover (of 500 plus) after 4 days of work! She did countless TV and print ads, had six appearances in the coveted Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and became the Revlon spokesperson in 1984.
More than just a model, Kim Alexis parlayed her looks and mind into other opportunities, including spokesperson for various causes, speaking, author of 2 books and broadcast journalism including hosting several television shows like, She’s Got the Look on TV LAND.
As her career has progressed, she's never lost her love of fitness. She has always loved competition and has run in 8 marathons and 3 tri athalons. She had 3 sons during that time and then a blended family. In recent years, she's focused on health and wellness issues for women. Encouraging them to become the best they can be!
Kim Alexis is married to former NY Ranger Hockey Player Ron Duguay. Together they share five children (4 grown) and live in Northern New Jersey.
