Why are you climbing the ladder?

"Work hard, but make time for your love, family and friends. Nobody remembers PowerPoint presentations on your final day." [Click to tweet.]

-- Chetan Bhagat

Many of us are spending far more time than normal with immediate families, while social distancing from everyone else.

While stressful at times, take solace knowing that all of these bonus deposits you're making at home, with the people that matter most and engaging in activities that truly matter will pay massive dividends for years to come.

This was a lesson galvanized into my heart while sitting bedside next to a wildly successful businessman as he lived out his final days. It's a story I share in my new book, IN AWE.

This man and his heart-breaking regret changed my life.

I hope that after watching this short story, you'll pause for a few additional minutes. Reflect on your life. Check your ladder. And make sure it's leaning against the right darn wall.

To be clear: There's nothing wrong with career aspirations and hard work. Let's just not forget WHY we are climbing our ladders in the first place and what real success looks.

Because nothing would be a greater mistake than to succeed at things in life that just don’t matter.

This is your day. Live Inspired.

P.S. – The story shared in this video is from Chapter 13 of my new book, IN AWE which publishes in just two weeks! Visit www.ReadInAwe.com for more information and to preorder your copy today.
