Biography

James V. (Jim) Lackey, Jr. is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and former CEO of Passport Health Communications, Inc.He joined the company in October, 1996, a few months after its founding, to provide strategic leadership and direction.

Jim has led Passport from startup, through product development, revenue generation, three acquisitions and three rounds of capital financing to its current position as a leader in the healthcare technology and information services industry.

Jim has over thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry ranging from hospital administration, leadership of growing insurance and managed care organizations, to the startup and leadership of a very successful healthcare technology company.His experience includes technology, startup operations, acquisitions, integration, consulting, repositioning and divestiture of assets and functions and maximizing shareholder value.

Jim was a founding officer of Coventry Corporation in 1987 and served as Vice President of Administration during the startup, acquisition and IPO phases.He was assistant vice president of administration for HealthAmerica Corporation that was the leader in the national managed care industry. HealthAmerica bought or built over 39 HMOs before its sale in 1986.

Jim also was president of FOCUS Healthcare Management, which was sold to Concentra and recently to Coventry, and was a healthcare consultant with Ernst & Young, LLP.

Jim has three sons, two daughters in law, two granddaughters. He and Phyllis have been married for 32 years. Hobbies are cars, riding motorcycles and he is an instrument rated private pilot.
