Jay Wright was the men's basketball head coach at Villanova University for 21 seasons before announcing his retirement in 2022. Jay is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in college basketball history as he led the Wildcats to 6 Big East Conference championships, 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, and 2 NCAA national championships. Prior to joining Villanova, Jay was the head coach at Hofstra University where he led the team to 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. Due to his success as a coach, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 2021 class. Jay's coaching experience extends to an international level, as he led Team USA to a gold medal at the 2005 World University Games as head coach and was an assistant coach in the 2000 World Championship for Young Men Qualifying Tournament. While famous for his coaching ability, Jay is also a two-time winner of The Runway to the Fashionable Four, which is an award given to the best-dressed coach in college basketball. Outside of basketball, he is involved in the Philadelphia Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising events which support the American Cancer Society.
