Erin Bethea, star of the award-winning Fireproof, is an accomplished actress, performer and Christian voice.

Originally from Albany, GA, she received her BA in Theatre from the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL. Following college, Erin performed a small role in the second film produced by Sherwood Pictures, Facing the Giants. She played the role of sportscaster Alicia Houston.

Following the success of Facing the Giants, Erin began work as an entertainer at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. She remains a contracted actress at the Magic Kingdom.

Building upon experience from her first picture, Erin had the privilege to play the lead role of Catherine Holt in Sherwood Pictures' third film Fireproof opposite veteran actor Kirk Cameron. The film was a break-out success breaking many box-office records and creating a new genre of independent films.

Erin has also extensively worked with Jay Strack's Student Leadership University. She assisted in the development of the Creative Outbreak Workshop conference for students interested in the arts and served as a featured speaker.

Erin is currently the co-host for the Emmy Award winning television series from the North American Mission Board, OMX: On Mission Xtra. The series tells the stories of individuals from all parts of North America engaged in radical choices to reach the community for Christ. The series airs on FamNet.

Erin is married to Bill Shafer and is the proud daughter of Michael & Terri Catt. Her father, Michael, serves as the Senior Pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA.
