Biography
Emmy winning broadcaster Ed Lucas is one of the most respected people on the American sports scene. He has been covering the Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, and almost every other professional sports team for over forty five years. During his career, he has met and developed close friendships with scores of Hall of Fame athletes, legendary entertainers, notable business moguls, and preeminent politicians, including four U.S. Presidents.
Ed has done all of these things despite the fact that he’s been totally blind since an accident at age twelve
Lucas has been honored by thousands of organizations in his career, and has raised millions for various charities. Ed's mentor, Yankee Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto teamed with him to help support schools for disabled children, like the one where Ed learned the skills that helped him to become successful.
