Daniel Simmons

Daniel Simmons is a man after God's own heart. He is the Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. In his 20 years of leadership, the church has experienced tremendous growth and ministry expansion which gives evidence that the church IS reaching the world for Christ - the driving force of its mission statement.A native of Cairo, Georgia, Dr. Daniel Simmons is a dynamic speaker who not only blesses the people of Mount Zion, but audiences across the country. He speaks to audiences that include church and para church organizations, governmental agencies and private industry, as well as public and private schools and universities. In addition, he is a leader, community builder, teacher and mentor to many. Dr. Daniel Simmons has a sincere and Godly love for people of all walks of life. His teachings on faith-based living are heard in his discussions on topics such as Family Matters, Courageous Men, and Racial Reconciliation just to name a few.Dr. Daniel Simmons connects with his virtual audience via his weekly television and radio program, Walking In the Light. This year, he extended his audience reach by performing in The Measure of a Man, a stage play written by Matt Hardwick. In addition to the stage play, he can bee seen in the movie Courageous upon its release this fall. Dr. Daniel Simmons holds degrees from Albany State University in Albany, Georgia and the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He acquired his Doctorate degree from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan, Alabama. He is an humble recipient of numerous awards, including several Martin Luther King awards, which honor him for his local and national community service.
