Byron Scott
Biography
A three-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, Byron Scott brought the Nets to the NBA Finals in his second season as their sideline mentor. Following a 26-56 mark in his rookie campaign, Scott guided the Nets to a 52-30 mark in the 2001-02 season, which saw the Nets advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in their 26-year NBA history. The 52-win total represented the most ever by a Nets team, as the 2001-02 team set a franchise record for wins and became the first Nets team to hit the 50-win plateau and to earn home-court advantage in the NBA Playoffs. Byron's non-profit organization, The Byron Scott Children's Fund, has raised more than $3 million for various children's charities. Not afraid to share his faith, Byron is frequently seen courtside wearing a WWJD bracelet. As a speaker, Byron's entertaining style and inspirational message are loved by all.
