Beth Holloway 1

Beth Holloway and other parents whose children have gone missing in recent years will appear on an episode of the daytime talk show "Katie" airing today.

The episode focuses on some of the most high-profile missing persons cases - Laci Peterson, Chandra Levy and Natalee Holloway, the Mountain Brook teenager who went missing on a 2005 senior trip to Aruba. Their parents will discuss overcoming grief and changing laws to help other families, according to a news release.

The episode features Beth Holloway, the mother of Natalee Holloway; Sharon Rocha and Ron Grantski, the parents of Laci Peterson; Susan Levy, the mother of Chandra Levy; legal analyst Dan Abrams; and the parents of two small children who were abducted outside their homes - Erin Runnion, the mother of Samantha Runnion and Maureen and Richard Kanka, the parents of Megan Kanka.

Natalee, a Mountain Brook High School graduate, disappeared in 2005 during a senior class trip to Aruba. The 18-year-old was last seen with Joran van der Sloot, who has since pleaded guilty to killing another woman five years to the day after Natalee's disappearance. Natalee was seen with van der Sloot and two other men as they left a nightclub on the last night of the Mountain Brook students' trip.

Her packed luggage, cell phone and passport were found in her room the next day. Despite months of intensive searches, Natalee's body never was found. Though authorities believed van der Sloot killed Natalee, he was never prosecuted.

Since Natalee's disappearance, Beth Holloway has spoken publicly about personal safety and founded organizations that focus on promoting safe travel and helping families of missing persons.
