Stephen Mansfield
Stephen Mansfield’s recent emergence on the international scene has come as a surprise to some observers but it is actually in keeping with the course of his life. Stephen grew up in Europe the son of a U.S. Army officer. For many years, his father was the senior military intelligence official in Berlin, Germany, during the Cold War. Stephen acquired his passion for history and international affairs during these vital years behind the Iron Curtain.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree, two Master’s and a Doctorate in Theology, Stephen Mansfield found himself working with the Kurds in Northern Iraq just after the first Gulf War. To secure religious liberties for the Kurds, Stephen Mansfield made several embassies to the Vatican. His work with officials there led to permanent change in Vatican policies toward the Middle East.
Stephen’s work as a New York Times bestselling author has taken him to some of the international hotspots of the world. Early in 2005, he was embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq so he could learn firsthand the facts that led to his important book, The Faith of the American Soldier. Stephen Mansfield has also written an international bestseller on the new Pope, entitled Benedict XVI: His Life and Mission. Both of these books built on the reputation Stephen earned with his world-wide bestseller, The Faith of George W. Bush.
Stephen Mansfield has lectured at the United States Military Academy on the role of religion in modern warfare and is a consultant to numerous Congressmen and Senators on Middle East affairs. He is gaining a widespread reputation for his speeches and lectures that bring clarity to international events and anticipate the trends shaping the future.
