What a Luge Run Feels Like

This week the luge athletes competing in Sochi are taking their last 7 training runs. Friday they will take their two last runs and then march in the Opening Ceremonies.

Then on Saturday and Sunday they will compete for the Gold Medal. After that the pressure's off, the party starts and they get to spend the rest of the two weeks truly enjoying the Olympic experience.

I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to compete in the men's singles luge in four Winter Olympics (each in a different decade) - 1988, 1992, 2002, 2010.

Today I get to share my story and what I've learned on the road to the Olympics with audiences around the world. It doesn't get any better than that.

This weekend I'll be watching several of my luge buddies compete in the biggest arena in sports.

I hope this short video gives you a better appreciation of what it REALLY feels like to take a luge run.
