Nenad Pacek is the lead author of "Emerging Markets: Lessons for Business Success and Outlook for Different markets." (2004). The second edition will be published by mid-2007 including the very latest trends, strategies and organisational structures that companies employ to profitably conquer emerging markets. The book is examining why some international companies succeed in emerging market and why so many others fail to reach their initial objectives. It also talks about which markets and regions are likely to be economic winners in the next decade and why. The book is based on real-life examples of companies that have ventured internationally in the last two decades.
Day-to-day, Nenad is Vice President of the Economist Intelligence Unit, a sister company of the Economist Group that publishes the Economist magazine. In his day-to-day job he works with senior executives (regional and global level) from some of the largest US, European and some Japanese companies who are keen to enter new markets and/or step up the effort to expand within markets that they had already entered. In addition, he is also Global Practice Leader for Economist Conferences Goverment Roundtables and chairs about 15 such Roundtables per year with Heads of State, Prime Ministers and other key officials. Among his clients, he is recognized as one of the world's leading experts on business and economic issues in emerging markets. His educational background is in international business, economics and finance. He lives near Vienna with his wife and daughter.
