
Kyle Rote is a motivational speaker for such diverse clients as IBM, AT&T, Polaroid, Pillsbury and 3M, among many others. Has spoken at the White House for President Ford and in London for Prince Philip.
In 1984, he was selected as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young Men In America.”
He is the national television commentator on numerous occasions for CBS, and Veteran “Game of the Week” announcer for USA Cable in football, track and soccer.
He is the author of numerous articles and two books—Simon and Schuster’s Complete Book of Soccer and Beyond the Goal—hardcover and paperback.
Kyle Rote is also the only American born player to ever win a major professional soccer league Scoring Championship. Represented the United States in international competition from 1973-1976 and is the all-time leading scorer in Dallas Tornado history. Also, he is one of only two people to win more than one of the popular, nationally televised Superstars competitions. He won three times (1974, 1976, 1977) over such greats as O.J. Simpson, Pete Rose and hundreds of others including three Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalists.
He is the principle performer in the CLIO Award-winning commercial for Special Olympics produced by Coca-Cola. He is the principal in five films. The two most recent are “The Flying Scotsman,” the documentary sequel to the Oscar-winning Best Picture “Chariots of Fire,” and “More Than Winning,” which enjoyed critical acclaim at many film festivals.
As a Christian, Kyle Rote is dedicated to helping the youth of our nation develop their unique abilities and God-given potential. In addition, he took a one-year leave from pro sports in 1980 to join the efforts of Mother Teresa and others in the battle against hunger—a cause he remains committed to.
Kyle Rote currently maintains an extensive speaking and broadcasting schedule in addition to being an active owner of Athletic Resource Management, Inc., a diverse financial services company and sports agency.
Kyle, his wife Mary Lynne, and their four children live in Memphis, Tennessee where they are involved in many sports and civic activities.
