Josh Harris
Biography

Josh Harris is a twenty-five year Internet industry veteran. In the 1986 Mr. Harris formed Jupiter Communications, LLC, an Internet research and consulting firm. By the early 1990's Jupiter was recognized as a leading source for market research and analysis of the then burgeoning Internet industry. In 1994 Mr. Harris vested two employees as partners in Jupiter Communications and left to start Pseudo Programs, Inc., an Internet radio and television network. In 1998 Jupiter Communications went public.

In 1994 Mr. Harris founded Pseudo Programs, Inc. based on a contract to provide a "chat" application on the Prodigy Services Company. Within one year Pseudo became by far the single largest third party billable traffic generator for Prodigy. At its peak Pseudo employed 300 people who produced and distributed net-centric chat television programming from it New York City studios. In 1998 Mr. Harris raised $35 million in venture and strategic capital for Pseudo at which point he became the company's chairman and ceased day-to-day operational management.
In 1998 Mr. Harris launched his fine art career. His first major project, known as "Quiet," was a month long site specific millennium installation that integrated technology and conceptual art. The New York City Museum of Modern Art compares this work with Truman Capote's "Black and White Party."

Mr. Harris' second major project was "We Live In Public." For this project Mr. Harris wired his 4,000sq/ft loft with cameras, microphones and sensors that were streamed to the net. Over a five month run the installation enabled net audiences to watch and participate in the lives of Mr. Harris and his performance art girl friend. By the fourth month, the "living in public" experience caused Mr. Harris to have a nervous breakdown (mostly due to his complete loss of privacy). Mr. Harris moved to upstate New York and commercially farmed apples for five years in order to recuperate.
Since 2006 Mr. Harris has been "on the road" and lived on a boat in Baja, Mexico, Madrid, Ethiopia, Malta, Panama and Los Angeles. In 2009 "We Live In Public," won the Grand Jury Prize for best documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.

Mr. Harris is currently in New York City working on "The Wired City" a commercial Internet television network.
