They are committed to honoring women and to stimulating the personal growth of members. You achieved all three of those goals in your presentation. Your message about living a life of significance, having no limits in daily life, and engendering a relationship with God are all elements of important advice, especially to our students. I appreciated how you tailored your remarks to be particularly resonant with our mission and with our students. Ms. Mayer was a valued guest at the VA Medical Center. She brought joy and inspiration to our veterans. The stroke patients especially gained strength and courage from her presentation. She was living proof to them that stroke patients can live and thrive. Ms. Mayer taped a segment on stroke for the VATV health program at the end of the day. Her frank and informative discussion on her stroke and recovery will be seen by veterans throughout this country. Jackie shared from her heart not only the highs and lows of her life, but also her personal faith in God that guided her through the most difficult time of her life after her stroke. She spent time after her talk was over, answering questions and giving personal attention to each lady who lined up to talk with her.
