Our Green Commitment
Premiere Speakers Bureau® is committed to caring for the environment as well as we care for our clients. Over the last few years, we have discovered that green business is good business, and we would like to share a few of the small ways that we've tried to make a difference in our corner of the world.
ONLINE PROPOSALSSince 2005, we've not only become faster in getting proposals to clients, we've become greener, too. Previously, each hardcopy proposal mailed out included a plastic cover, a DVD and a wire-bound, 20-page proposal. By switching to online proposals, we have cut the time it takes a client to receive it from days to seconds, and we have decreased hardcopy proposals by 82%. This has saved tremendous amounts of paper, not to mention the binding, folders, toner, packaging, DVDs, cases and the fossil fuels used in shipping thousands of packages.
E-CONTRACTS AND INVOICESIn just one year of usage, online offer sheets for both clients and speakers have dramatically cut down on paper, fax and printer usage. Many clients and speakers have quickly adapted to the online contracts, saving 2-10 pieces of paper for every interaction. In 2008, 58% of clients opted to use the online contracts, and 64% of speakers have decided to use them as well.
EMPLOYEE TRANSPORTATION80% of Premiere employees either live within 9 miles of work or carpool to and from work. Some even bike to work during the summer. (95% live within 16 miles or carpool.)
CARBON OFFSETTo help offset our carbon footprint, Premiere donates to World Vision’s reforestation fund, which supports tree nurseries in countries like Haiti and Ethiopia. For more information, visit WorldVision.org.
RECYCLINGWith recycling bins in the office and a recycling partnership with Green Earth, Premiere reuses and recycles as much cardboard, paper, bottles, cans and other materials whenever possible.
AN ENERGY-SMART OFFICEPremiere's new office is specifically designed to conserve energy. Every workspace is covered in natural sunlight, and the office uses a mere 1.1 watts per square foot. We also use a lighting control system from WattStopper that automatically shuts off lights after work hours and when a room is empty.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTPremiere employees are offered a one-to-one vacation day matching for service or mission activities and trips. In 2006, Premiere partnered with World Vision to build a well and water system in Ghana that provided clean, healthy drinking water to over 2,000 people. In 2007, Premiere helped fund operations at the Baan Santisuk Phang Nga orphanage in Thailand.
