Gary Langer
Biography

An insightful speaker with an engaging style, Gary Langer is founder and president of Langer Research Associates, a New York-based firm that designs, manages and analyzes survey research projects for corporate, media, foundation, association and academic clients. He directs news polling for the ABC News television network, surveys economic sentiment in Bloomberg L.P.'s weekly Consumer Comfort Index and specializes in topics including politics, elections, public policy, corporate reputation, brand equity, consumer insights, health care, education and international development.

Langer's work has been recognized with two news Emmy awards; 10 Emmy nominations; the David R. Ogilvy Award for Excellence in Advertising Research; and the Policy Impact Award of the American Association for Public Opinion Research, for a seven-year series of surveys in Iraq and Afghanistan cited as "a stellar example of high-impact public opinion polling at its finest." His polling for ABC News has received at A+ rating from Nate Silver's fivethirtyeght.com, one of just six ongoing surveys out of more than 370 assessed - and the only media-sponsored poll - to win this grade.

Langer is a board member of the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research, a trustee of the National Council on Public Polls and former president of AAPOR's New York Chapter. His firm is a charter member of AAPOR's Transparency initiative.

All of Langer's presentations are custom-prepared for their audiences, drawing on the most recent data to tell the story of the latest trends in public opinion and consumer attitudes.
