Biography
Mike Long is one of the most sought after speakers for Pro-Life banquets and fundraisers due to his enthusiastic message and record-breaking appeal. One of the pioneers of the abstinence education movement, Mike has woven his thirty years of speaking on sexual purity into one of the most unique messages of prevention and restoration on the issue of abortion. His presentation, including humor and stories touching every heart, captivates his audiences, as he leads donors into one of the most successful appeals strategically bathed in direction and prayer.
Mike and his family are originally from Raleigh/Durham, NC and currently reside in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mike served as a legislative assistant for the late US Senator Jesse Helms. He then became a teacher in the Durham Public Schools. His teaching career led to the development of his nationally acclaimed videotape series "Everyone Is NOT Doing It," one of the most persuasive abstinence education programs currently used in over 5000 school systems throughout the world.
Mike currency serves as Head of School at Carmel Christian School in Charlotte. He and his wife Libby are the parents of two grown children. He is the recipient of the Eagle award in recognition of his lifelong commitment to America's youth.
